Andrea Natale | I am a researcher at Inria Lille and the Laboratoire Paul Painlevé (Maths departement, Université de Lille).

I am a Research Scientist (chargé de recherche) in the RAPSODI project team at Inria Lille.

My research focuses on numerical optimal transport and its applications in developing numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs), particularly those arising in fluid dynamics and related fields. I am especially interested in methods that preserve the underlying structure of the mathematical models at the discrete level (e.g., gradient flow or Hamiltonian) to ensure that their fundamental physical properties are maintained in numerical simulations.

Prior to Inria Lille, I was a postdoc in the Laboratoire de Mathématiques d'Orsay (LMO) at Université Paris-Sud. Before that, I was a postdoc in the MOKAPLAN team at Inria Paris. I completed my PhD at Imperial College London in 2017.
